Sérstaða allrar vörulínunnar UM er sú að hún miðast við veisluna, mannfagnaðinn, ljósið, matinn, ylinn og ilminn. Það sem gerir vörulínuna sérstaka er vinnuferlið sem felst í því að unnið er með tvö ólík frumefni, leir og tré sem mætast í sama hlutnum. Nýju hlutirnir, SkiptUM, NærUM og InnUM hafa fleiri en eitt notagildi, kertastjaki verður blómavasi og dögurðardiskur verður partídiskur. Í þessari hugmynd felst ákveðinn leikur og sköpun hjá notandanum með nytjahlutina sem skreyta eða þjóna þeim jafnt við veisluhöld sem í hversdagsleikanum. Leikurinn og hlutverkaleikurinn í hlutunum er ákveðið nýnæmi sem og efnisnotkun.

The UM line of products is constantly evolving.  Its distinction derives from its focus on feasting, celebration, light, food, warmth and aroma.  What distinguishes the product line is the production process which includes working with two different elements which interconnect in the product. These elements are clay and wood. The new articles, SkiptUM, NærUM and InnUM are useful in multiple ways. 
A candeholder becomes a vase for flowers and a breakfast plate becomes a party plate. This inspires a certain playfulness on behalf of the user who may use the articles as decoration or items of practical use in festive circumstances as well as in daily life. The novelty of the articles derives from their playfulness as well as the use of materials in their construction.
